Unwavering Faith

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well.
I would like to share a personal experience with you. One morning last week I was praying to the Lord about a situation that had been bothering me. I was basically pouring my heart out to God and asking Him to speak to me. I even told the Lord that I was desperately seeking Him, just like the woman with the issue of blood. You can find this parable in Mark 5:25-34. This lady had been suffering with this issue for twelve years. She had been to many different physicians and spent all of her money trying to get better, but she actually got worse. Then she heard about Jesus and how He had healed so many people from their sicknesses. She knew that if she could just touch the hem of his clothes, she would be healed. She was desperate for her healing.
I felt like I was desperate to hear from the Lord, and that’s exactly what I told Him in my prayer. Much to my surprise, the Lord told me “Yes, you may be desperate for an answer just like the woman with the issue of blood, however there is one major difference. She KNEW she would get results by coming to Me…you are only HOPING for results.” WOW! I felt like hiding my face from shame because that was the absolute truth. I was basically begging the Lord for an answer and hoping that He would answer me. The woman with the issue of blood went to Jesus KNOWING that she would get just what she needed merely by touching His clothes. She knew who Jesus was, and what He would do for her. She received her healing by her faith.
The Lord showed me a vital lesson through this experience. There’s a big difference in hoping and knowing. Sometimes people might say they believe God is able to heal or deliver, but do you believe that He will? Oftentimes, we don’t think about how our lack of faith, or the slightest doubt can hinder our deliverance.
Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith is is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Though I have been saved for over thirty years, this inspired me to get to know the Lord even more. The Lord told me to start studying the scriptures where He healed. I’m trying to pay close attention and learn how the people that went to Jesus truly had faith in Him because they knew who He was. It seems like it’s harder for people in today’s world to truly have faith like we should because we can’t see Him in the flesh. It’s easy to believe something that you can see, but it requires stronger faith when you have to believe in something that you cannot see.
John 20:29 says, "Then Jesus told him, "You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who haven't seen me and believe anyway."
Though Jesus is no longer here in the flesh, He yet lives! His power to heal and deliver is the same today as it was then.
John 14:12-14 says:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
The power to heal, deliver, and set free still exists today because of His power that works through us. We can go to Him in prayer believing by faith, because He yet lives.
Matthew 21:21-22
"I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer."Years ago whenever churches had revivals, people would travel near and far to be in service. They would go with an expectation. They knew that healing was going to take place. They knew someone was going to get saved, and be delivered. Everyone went looking to experience the power of the Lord. Now days, it seems like we’ve lost our expectation. We seem to be just going through the motions, but not expecting to see the power of the Lord anymore. We need to get reacquainted with who Jesus is. We remember the power that He possess. We need to remember that His power is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. He still heals sick bodies! He still delivers! He still performs miracles! His power will never change.
I encourage you today, if you need something special from God, pray and expect results. Whatever your need may be, pray with an expectation. His power is unchanging, so our faith should be unwavering.
