Let Go of the Weights

Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing well.
Have you ever faced a situation that seemed like it was never going to get better? Or have you ever felt so worried, or burdened down that you didn't know what you were going to do? For example, you could be troubled with health issues, relationship problems, financial hardship, grief, anxiety, bitterness, etc....
These are things that are usually always on your mind, and they wear you down. When dealing with issues like these, they can become a very hard load to bear. That's when they become spiritual "weights". Weights weigh you down, making your spiritual walk quite difficult.
Hebrews 12:1 says:
"Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."Holding on to weights makes our race too strenuous. So, we have to get rid of these weights so we can run without hindrance.
1 Peter 5:7 says:
"Casting all your anxiety (cares) upon him, because he careth for you." Another good scripture is Psalm 55:22. It says:
"Cast your cares on the LORD
and he will sustain you;
He will never let the righteous fall."God wants us to give Him our burdens. These weights that are too heavy for us, is perfect for Him. He doesn't want us to be burdened down. He wants us to cast all of our cares (our troubles/problems) upon Him, and LEAVE THEM with Him. If we truly give our cares and concerns to God, He will give us peace in exchange for the weights. That probably sounds impossible, but it is stated in His Word.
Philippians 4:6-7 says:
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank him for his answers. If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."Once we really give our concerns to God and stop worrying, He will give us peace. When we stop trying to figure out how to fix our problems our way, and stop wondering how and when everything is going to work out, God will take over and take care of everything. When we truly give it to Him and leave it there, that is when we will experience that peace of God that is stated in Philippians 4:7.
Not very long ago, the Lord showed me something that was quite eye opening. I had been praying, and I asked the Lord to really help me stop worrying about certain situations. I needed the Lord to help me cast my cares upon Him, and to leave them there. As I prayed, the Lord showed me a visualization of me bringing some stones to an altar. Each stone had a word written on it, and they each represented a burden or a "weight" that I had been carrying around. I laid all of these stones on the altar, then I slowly got up and began backing away. As I was backing away, the Lord told me to leave them there. So, I turned around and walked away. As soon as I saw this, it all made sense to me.
It truly can be that easy and simple. God wants us to give Him our cares and burdens. He wants us to let Him have our weights. I'm so thankful that God showed me that visualization, because it delivered me from my weights that I had been carrying around for so long.
You might ask, how can it possibly be that easy? But, it truly can be. Pray with the intentions of giving your cares to the Lord, and really leave them there. Then do as Philippians 4:8 says:
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."Keep your mind on good, wholesome thoughts. Pure, holy, and praiseworthy thoughts. Keep a song on your heart, and the Word of God in your mind. Do not allow the enemy to bring worry, doubt, or fear to your mind. Do not allow the enemy to try to weigh you down with those burdens anymore. When you leave your cares with God, you can be sure that He is going to take care of you and your problems.
I encourage you today, whatever weights you may be dealing with, give them to God. Let God have the weights, and receive your peace. They are too heavy for you to bear, and God never intended for you to carry them.
God bless!
