Trust His Plan

Hello everyone. I hope you all are doing well.

Today I would like to talk about trusting God’s plan for our lives. Sometimes we find ourselves having a difficult time trusting God for the right direction. He may tell us to do something, or perhaps He may tell us that He’s going to do something in our lives. Whichever way, it can be very difficult to hold on and trust Him and His plan.

I thought about a couple of different examples in the Bible. God told Jonah to go to Nineveh and warn the people about their wickedness. Jonah definitely didn’t obey or trust God at first. Immediately, he went in the opposite direction. God did get his attention, and finally he obeyed God and went to Nineveh and gave them the message God told him to give.

Another example was Sarah. When Sarah heard the Lord tell Abraham that He was going to bless them with a son, she laughed. It sounded rather funny to her because they were both of old age and she was barren. She was looking at the situation with a natural eye, and naturally it seemed impossible. However, spiritually it was very possible, and it did come to pass.

There may be times in our lives when God may tell us to go somewhere, and logically it doesn’t make any sense. God doesn’t always show us His plan right away. He wants us to trust and obey Him. It may not make sense in the beginning, but at the end it always comes together for our good, and for His glory.

When I think about last year whenever we were getting ready to move, we thought we knew exactly where we were going. Suddenly, things changed and we had to quickly find a different place to live. We had no idea where we were going to go. Then, one day we ended up looking at a house in a location that we said we absolutely were not going to go. Our intentions were to move closer to my husband’s job. However, God moved us farther away from his job. That didn’t make any sense to us at first. When we went and looked at the house and worked out all of the details, it made perfect sense that this was the house God wanted us to move into. Not long after we moved we discovered that we actually loved living here, and the drive wasn’t nearly as bad for my husband. In fact, he actually gets home a lot quicker then we realized he would.

After we moved and got settled in, the Lord began to show me a few different things that He wanted me to do. Quickly, I thought Lord surely you aren’t telling me to add more projects onto my list of things to do! I’m already a stay at home mother of six, and then You told me to start homeschooling the children a couple of years ago. My days are far spent, and there’s no way I have time to do anything else. All I could see is with my natural eye. Logically, doing anything else that required much time just didn’t make sense. However, when the Lord wants your attention, and more importantly your OBEDIENCE, He eventually will get through to you. So, He got my attention, and I was obedient and began setting up websites, and now here I am. I have started blogging like He told me to, I have podcasts, and I started a business. I have to admit that I do struggle with time management for the blogs and podcasts, but somehow He helps me to eventually get them done. The business is the one thing that I’m having the most trouble trusting Him for. It is going slower that slow to be honest. I have questioned myself and second guessed myself time and time again. I have prayed several times asking the Lord if I really heard Him correctly? Did He really tell me to start this business, because it just doesn’t seem to be working out. For some reason, He just will not allow me to let it go, so I’m trying to just keep trusting Him until a change comes.

One scripture that I find comforting is Isaiah 55:8-9:

"8. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. 9. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts."

This scripture is so true. God’s ways are far to great for us to figure out. It isn’t our job to figure all of the details. God wants us to just trust and obey His plan. Even though it may not make sense in the beginning, just keep walking by faith and not by sight.

Another good scripture is Jeremiah 29:11:

"11. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."

Something that I remember the Lord telling me one day is “I wouldn’t set you up for failure”. I try to remind myself of that whenever I’m feeling discouraged. God isn’t going to tell you to go somewhere or do something just to watch you fail. If He told you to go somewhere or do something in particular, it’s for a specific reason. Just trust Him and follow His will.

One of my all time favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6:

"5. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."

Even though we may not understand God’s plan, we need to trust Him with our whole heart. Just ask the Lord to help us follow His direction for our lives. We need to ask Him to lead us and guide us according to His perfect will.

I know that I need to just say, “Lord, I know it doesn’t look like it’s working now, but I’m trusting You. As long as You’re directing me to keep going, I’m going to keep going no matter what.”

Even if other people begin to speak doubt about what you’re doing and believing God for, KEEP TRUSTING GOD. No matter how bad the situation may look, trust and believe God. Again, Sarah was barren and of old age. That logically was an impossible situation, but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

I encourage you today, if you find yourself in a situation where you are trying to trust God for, but finding it difficult, keep holding on. Please keep trusting God, and obeying His will and plan for your life. It may not make sense now, but it definitely will in the end.

Remember, TRUST HIS PLAN!

God Bless!
